CZECH REPUBLIC PROVIDES FULLY FUNDED SCHOLARSHIPS TO FOREIGN STUDENTS WITH A MONTHLY ALLOWANCE

The Czech Republic government is currently approving requests for its financed scholarships scheme for the 2026/2027 educational session.

Citizens from 11 advancing nations, including Nigeria, can study at public higher institutions in the Czech Republic.

The Czech authority possesses a long record of offering academic assistance to developing nations.

According to the official statement, from the late 1950s to the present day, more than 20,000 international citizens have concluded their programs at Czech institutions with a government scholarship.

The initiative, an aspect of the nation’s international growth cooperation initiative, was verified in a notice posted by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports in association with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health.

All requests are required to be presented online by 30th September 2025.

WHO CAN MAKE AN APPLICATION

Nationals from the following nations can make an application for the 2026/2027 cycle:

  • Asia: Sri Lanka, Cambodia
  • Africa: Ethiopia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Zambia
    •  Europe: Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Georgia,
  • Middle East and Latin America: Guatemala, Jordan

WHAT THE SCHOLARSHIP PROTECTS

The scholarship protects the total period of selected educational courses provided in Czech or English, based on the candidate’s nationality and desired program of study.

The scholarship holders would receive a monthly allowance of CZK 16,000 for Bachelor’s and Master’s students and CZK 17,000 for doctoral students to protect basic living costs.

COURSES PURSUED IN THE CZECH LANGUAGE

  • Bachelor’s courses: Just for candidates from Georgia.
  • Follow-up master’s courses: For candidates from Ukraine, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Belarus.
  • 12 months Czech language preparatory program

Courses pursued in English Language (Available to all qualified nations)

  • 24 months Follow-up Master’s courses
  • Three to four years doctoral programmes

TO BE ELIGIBLE, CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO:

  • Have finished secondary school (for bachelor courses)
  • Has a bachelor’s degree for the master’s program
  • It has a master’s program for people studying for doctoral programmes.

Candidates for courses educated in English are required to take an online English exam at the time of the application process. Successfully passing the entrance tests constitutes a prerequisite for a scholarship grant.

ADDITIONAL INSIGHTS

Travel costs to and from the Czech Republic are the student’s or the nominating entity’s responsibility.

The student is required to reimburse for further health services above general care. If the student surpasses the official period of the course or interrupts their program, they will no longer be protected by the scholarship.

If a scholarship bolder surpasses the standard duration of study or the duration for which the grant has been awarded to them, they will forfeit the status of a government scholarship holder.

Scholarship reimbursement may be revoked if a student discontinues or gets expelled from their program, gives fake details at the time of the application, neglects to attend needed medical checks or obtain insurance, or does not adhere to educational duties.
